Why, hello, good to see you too

Hello there, it is nice to see you too. I hope you are well as all is well with me. I still feel like I am on vacation so please excuse the lack of bloggin or updates. I will now give you the Reader's Digest version of my next step so far.

I arrived safe and sound and actually got through customs without a hitch and a little help from the porters inside. It was nice to glide right through with all 5 pieces of luggage. My man, my dad and one of my man's sisters were there to meet me. It was so nice to actually be in his arms. That same evening, I went to the Women's Retreat. That was nice but very difficult because of the emotions I was in the middle of.

My first Sunday night was actually easier than I thought it would be, I had my anchor by my side - that helped. I did still miss you all.

I have not done too very much else than hang around the house. Well, dealing with my paperwork has taken a fair amount of time (and money). I received my paperwork from the Brazilian Embassy in Washington the day before I left - Yeah God!!! Once here, I had to get the paperwork officially translated before I can go to register to get married. My mom and I went to the next town and left the papers to be translated. We went back to get them yesterday (Tuesday). Once translated the translator has to arrange the papers in order of the original and the translation, then he has to stamp each page and either sign or initial the stamp. For translation here, you pay per line translated. There were almost 200 lines that had to be translated. Then after you get the paperwork translated and signed by the translator, you have to take it to another place to have his signature authenticated. At this place you have to get the original paperwork copied first (25 centavos a page - about 13 cents). Then at this location, they look at the signature and verify that it is from the translator. Here they then place a sticker on the front of the group of documents, I had three groups, and a stamp on each page of the copy (32 pages). Then there is ONE man that has to initial each of the stamps. Then I pay for this service. After all this, my paperwork is ready to be submitted to the "Registro Civil" so that W and I can register our marriage. That will be another adventure in the world of redtape. Woo Hoo!!!

I have had a couple of hissy fits with W but it has all worked out for the best cause it opened doors of communication.

The house is coming along well. I will try to get pictues soon.

I feel a bit out of sorts and un-associated without a job, a phone, a place to call my own. That will all change soon enough but please continue praying for me as I work though all this. I am praying over what God would have me do in church and all.

I covet your prayers for my life and for W's life and for our coming marriage. I am anxious and full of joy for what is to come while at the same time, I miss what was.

I look forward to hearing from y'all. Keep in touch.

Love and hugs, mk
