Update from the Southern Hemisphere

Okay, so I am here in Brazil where it does not even feel like December because I am in shorts and a tank top. Yeah, yeah, I hear you all even now, poor thing, just suffering while we freeze here in the northern hemisphere. It is just odd but you would think with having been here the past 3 years I would be used to it by now. I need to get used to it since I know I am called to live here when it is God’s time to allow that. ;)

So anyway, here is the update. Sorry no more photos to post. My hands are busy holding those of my beloved so I have not been taking any.

I am taking in some sun but not too much so as to get sun poisoning to which I am prone. I get to see my beloved each day and I love him more and more each day. I am dreading my return to the States because I will be separated from him but I will enjoy seeing and hearing from you guys again.

Last Saturday my beloved and I were part of a wedding party here at the church. I had to get a whole new outfit for the occasion. (Darn the luck. ;p) They dress to the nines here for such occasions and I had packed no such clothes. We looked so cute together walking down the isle to the front of the church. Wedding are a bit different here, there are couples that stand up for you as the wedding party instead of bridesmaids and groomsmen. I like it a bit better. It was very hot even with the fans going. I cannot imagine being the bride with all the heat. It was a great ceremony and it was an honor to be part. It did lead to thoughts about my future nuptials and how those will go. That is for an entirely other post.

Last night we (mom, dad, Fernanda, Walmir and I) went to the circus. There is a small one ring circus in town and it was really cute. I don’t think W had been to a circus before. It was cute to watch him watch the circus. It was “Circo do Stankowich”.

Tonight Fer and I will be going to the youth meeting. My beloved will be there also. The girls are to bring a sweet or salty thing and the guys get to bring drinks. What luck to be a man and not have to make something to bring. I made “pudim” a Brazilian dessert and Fernanda was nervous about getting something made with all her chores and not getting home from work early enough so I made a “torte de limao”, lemon torte for her to bring. We will have a gift exchange, “amigos segredos”, secret friend style. I drew Fernanda’s name.

I will be spending Christmas Eve with my beloved and his family. That is how they do Christmas here it is on Christmas Eve and you are with your family and have a large meal just after midnight. We will then go to church as usual on Sunday and Sunday afternoon, my beloved will join the family here for a more American style Christmas repast at lunch with an American style gift exchange.

Well, sorry nothing juicy or extremely important. That is for e-mails.

Love you all.

Me and my graduate

Isn't he just cute as a button in his graduation robe? For those of you who have not met, I am pleased to introduce my boyfriend, Walmir Quaresma. He graduated from seminary Saturday the 9th of December. I made it to Brazil just in time to travel back and forth for the graduation.

Walmir is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life outside of my salvation. He is the best.

Yes he is bending over because he is much taller than this short gal.

Love you all. More later.

Tomorrow is not soon enough

Okay, I had some template issue and chose to go to a blogger template for the time being. In the transition, my countdown bar got lost. For your information

I leave TOMORROW

and it is not soon enough.

My lovely boyfirned sent me a couple of e-cards today and he is looking forward to my arrival in Brazil almost as much as I am looking forward to arriving there.

I love that country and I truly love him. I will move there some point in the future, God knows and will reveal it in the appropriate time. Yeah God!!!!!

I will try to blog while I am there. I may be better at it since I won't have a pesky job in the way. Or school. ;7P

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I leave tomorrow afternoon. the snow better hold off until I get out of town.

Much love to you all.

Hello - Yes, I live...

Sorry for not blogging in such a long time. I have been over stimulated with work, school, church and getting ready to go on vacation for a month. I am heading to Brazil for the holidays again and this time it will be for a month ;7D
Here is a mini catch-up:
Work: Bus with a new curriculum for which I am compiling the new resource guide, orientation manual, updating the rules and reg book and all related materials, of which there are many. Attitude about work has improved thought I think that is due more in part to the fact that I am leaving it for a month.

School: Last class is this Tuesday then the final. The final is online so that will help since I am leaving on Thursday. It has been a good class but I am not taking a class next semester for many reasons. Timeline being a big one.

Church: I am busy as ever and sometimes that is annoying but not. Please pray for my church as there is a fair amount of strife and being a committee chair, I hear about a lot of it. My committee (Missions) is in the fray of the strife as well. Please also pray for me because I have a child in my SS class I teach that is stretching me to almost beyond what I can handle. I almost snatched her up this past Sunday. Your prayers are coveted and I thank you for them.

Vaca: WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!! I am leaving on the 8th and I could not be more excited. I am overwhelmed but excited. My Christmas shopping is of course done cause I have to take it with me. I am about half packed and hope to finish tonight. Great goodness, I am so ready to have a type of rest though I am sure I will run around a lot in Brazil.

Other big news: I am officially a girlfriend to W now. He asked my parents for their blessing and on the 19th of November, we began to date. To some of you this may be silly though in the Brazilian culture, it is a big deal.
I will try to post from Brazil.
Hugs and love
